The sun is back in New England for a day and it felt really good, especially if you were inside your house or a building with windows because if you did venture outside, there was a breeze out of the northwest responsible for wind chills in the teens to around 20.
This breeze will finally ease Wednesday evening, allowing temperatures to drop into the single digits in the north and teens in the south, so the snow that got to melt in southern New England will refreeze overnight, creating black ice for many locations.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Duke Energy projects nearly 1 million people will lose power in the Carolinas due to the looming winter storm.
The hazardous wintry precipitation and high-winds from the approaching winter storm would be the cause of the nearly 1 million power outages - some lasting several days - beginning Thursday in North Carolina and South Carolina, based on the storm’s current forecasted track.
Vehicles were crushed in a parking lot at the Ardmore Terrace Apartments in Winston-Salem when a tree uprooted and fell during the ice storm Thursday morning.
